Compressed air is delivered to the plant and other corporate members from three compressors at an output pressure of 80 psig. Two of the compressors are manufactured by Sullair with ratings of 500 cfm and 700 cfm. These are both rotary screw compressors. The other unit is made by Ingersoll Rand, rated at 500 cfm @ 150 psig. It is also a rotary screw compressor. The Ingersoll Rand compressor is mainly used to operate the soot blowers located on #1 & #2 coal boilers at a pressure of 150 psig.
The Vacuum system consists of four vacuum pumps. Three of the pumps are manufactured by Fuller and one by SIHI. Two of the Fullers are rated at 375 cfm @ 23" of vacuum. The other Fuller is rated at 700 cfm @ 23" of vacuum. All the Fuller machines are sliding rotary vane construction with an oil seal. The SIHI unit is rated at 1000 cfm @ 23" of vacuum. This unit is a fixed rotary vane pump with a water seal.
