Our People

M. C. King:  President & CEO Since February 2021, M. C. has served in the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Center Company (MCCo), a Cleveland, OH based district energy company.

During his 30 plus year career spanning nearly the entire spectrum of energy generation, M. C. has held leadership responsibilities in nearly every facet of power generation. Prior to joining MCCo, M. C. was Vice President of Operations at Sodexo, a global facilities and services management company. He joined the company in 2019 to lead the company's energy district activities and operations.

Prior to joining Sodexo, he served as Managing Director, Plant Operations for integrated retail electricity and power generation companies Vistra Energy and Dynegy, Inc. where he led power generation and M&A operations teams. He has also held operations and engineering leadership positions at merchant generator, Ameren Energy Resources and while serving in the U. S. Nuclear Navy.

M. C. has previously served on the board of Forsite Development, Operation Oswego County and advisory boards of United Way, Salvation Army, and Cayuga Community College.

M. C. completed his education in Mechanical Engineering at University of Missouri-Columbia, Nuclear Engineering Technology at Thomas Edison State University, Engineering Management at Harvard University, Advance Project Management at Stanford University, and the CEO Academy at the Wharton School.

Elena Repidonis:  Executive Vice President and COO Since August 2021, Elena has served in the role of Vice President, Operations of the Medical Center Company (MCCo) and serves as the Chief Operations Officer of the Company. 

Prior to joining MCCo, Elena was Project Director at Sodexo, a global facilities and services management company.  She joined the company in 2020 to lead and execute the company’s capital and O&M projects.   She subsequently became Executive Director of Facilities at Sodexo, managing plant operations.

Prior to joining Sodexo, Elena spent 15 years at Babcock and Wilcox starting as a Process Engineer, moving into Proposal Management, and finishing her time as a Project Manager.  Elena has also held positions in applications engineering at Ceilcote Air Pollution Control, as well as product development and process/cost control engineering at International Paper.

Elena holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.

Chris Pakiz:  CFO & CAO Since February 2022, Chris has served in the role of CFO and CAO of the Medical Center Company (MCCo), a Cleveland OH based district energy company.

During his 35 plus year career he has served in a financial leadership CFO role in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors including the health care, education, transportation, real estate and the medical equipment industries.

Prior to joining MCCo served as Director of Finance at the Senior Transportation Connection for 6 years as well as holding various Financial and Operating consulting roles.

Chris is a lifelong Cleveland native, he has a Business Administration/Accounting Degree from Cleveland State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Ohio.

Anthony Lorenzo:  Operations Director Anthony began working at MCCo in August of 2018. He came to MCCO with over 30 years of experience in Municipal Utilities administration, management, production, distribution and collections. He is currently responsible for the safe and reliable production and distribution of steam and chilled water, the distribution of electricity and the operations of our District Energy Facility.

John Martin:  Maintenance Director John began working at MCCo in August 2021. He came to MCCo with over 20 years of experience in power plants. 

Prior to MCCo, John worked 10 years with Duke Energy, starting as a combined cycle operator at a 2200MW facility in Florida, finishing his time as an O&M Superintendent at a 3500MW supercritical coal facility in Indiana. He served 10 years in the US Navy as a nuclear machinist mate. 

John completed his education in Nuclear Engineering Technology and Master's in Business Administration at Thomas Edison State University.

Dr. Kevin Jones:  Health & Safety Director With over 14 years of experience in the occupational health and safety field, Dr. Jones is a seasoned and versatile safety expert. Prior to his retirement from the United States Marine Corps, he served over two decades of active-duty service filled with multiple combat deployments spanning from Iraq to Afghanistan. Following his military retirement, Dr. Jones worked at Dura-Line, C-Logic Inc., and Fluor Corporation prior to joining the Medical Center Company. During this time, he provided support for a multitude of critical domestic initiatives spanning multiple industries such as construction, nuclear operations, government, coal, and gas. Dr. Jones held several leadership positions in the field of environmental health and safety (EHS) at his previous employers.

Dr. Jones possesses a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Occupational Health and Safety from Capitol Technology University, a Master of Science (M.S.) in the same field from Columbia Southern University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.) with a concentration in Safety Management from Trident University, from which he graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude). Dr. Jones holds several certifications and designation from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), which includes Safety Trained Supervisor (STS), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), and Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP). Dr. Jones also earned his Safety and Occupational Health Specialist Certificate from Eastern Kentucky University/U. S. Army CP-12 Program. Additionally, he is a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).

Lindsey Zygadlo:  Maintenance Coordinator Lindsey began working at MCCo in November of 2020. She had worked for Sodexo for 14 years, primarily in healthcare with numerous management roles in Environmental Services. She has a degree in Hospitality Management and a minor in Business Management from The Ohio State University. 

Vivian Lykes:  Accounting / HR Associate Vivian joined The Medical Center Company in June 2022. Vivian has over 15 years’ Experience in the Insurance Industry. Vivian was involved in the recruitment, onboarding, providing technical support, securing continuing education, training and development for Licensed Property and Casualty Agents. 

From there she went on to join the Quality Assurance Team where she coordinated with Information Technology, Legal, Marketing and Training Departments to develop, implement, prepare training material, and conduct classroom and individual training as a Subject Matter Expert for the company’s New Product Systems. She also verified, enhanced, and trained internal policies and procedures for new and existing products for Claims, Customer Experience, Billing, and Accounting and Finance Departments.

Vivian then joined the Accounting and Finance Department of an electrical construction company as an Accounts Payable Lead and operated as assistant to the Coordinator and Chief Financial Officer. There she was tasked to create and implement procedures and practices to improve quality, productivity and vendor relations.  She also developed an initiative to coordinate the Purchasing, Accounting and Administrative departments for increased efficiency, consistency, and cost effectiveness. 

Vivian has come to us with a strong background in process enhancements, training, development, and focus on building employee engagement and relations.  Always operating under the belief “Our people are our greatest assets.”
